During our Half Day Zanzibar Fishing Charter, we focus on the fishing areas of Leven Bank (which lies 6 miles north of Nungwi), the Zanzibar Channel and the north east coast of Zanzibar Island. Of course, if it is quite inshore, we will head offshore in search of better fishing should time allow during the course of your Fishing Charter.
The waters of the Indian Ocean around Zanzibar, especially in the strait between Zanzibar and Pemba, provide an excellent opportunity for deep sea fishing.
From August to October – Yellowfin tuna & From September to March – Sailfish, striped, blue and black Marlin, Swordfish. Throughout the year, you can catch Dorado (mahi-mahi), king mackerel, yellowfin tuna, barracuda, wahoo.
The fishing season lasts from September to March. The catch consists of such fish as bonito, barracuda, yellowfin tuna, marlin and other deep-sea fish.
From mid-December to March there is a northern monsoon with a wind “Cascazi”, bringing gently sloping waves. In July-September, the southern monsoon is dominated with winds. October, November & December are the quietest months of the year
